ONNO - a haute couture Belgian scented candle brand
Each luxury scented candle perfume is created by designer Ilse Vandeputte, who has a true passion for scents. This passion was sparked after a trip to Tanzania where she discovered a magical sense of home and tranquility, but at the same time the sense of excitement, rich scents and enticing textures of an exotic country. Her dream was to convey this feeling of home. The scented candle perfumes are very relaxing and allow you to dream away. They give a unique feeling of luxury to your home. With more than 25 years of experience in developing perfumes, Ilse is a real 'nose' who uses only the best high-quality raw materials for which ONNO Collection is praised worldwide.
At ONNO, craftsmanship and sustainability come first
ONNO's scented candles are crafted in Belgium with craftsmanship in hand-blown glassware with mineral wax and Egyptian cotton wicks. This makes ONNO's scented candles of unparalleled quality, which last a very long time. The hand-blown glassware can be used as a vase or object after use, which underlines the sustainability of the brand.
Each scented candle is luxuriously packaged with ONNO packaging and ribbon. A fantastic gift to give or receive.

ONNO SCENTED CANDLE SPECIFICATIONS
What is the burning time of an ONNO candle?
You can find the approximate burn time of each candle in the description of each candle. The burning times are only an indication and based on correct use of the candle. Total burning time may vary depending on external factors such as airflow and air temperature.
Can I refill my ONNO Collection candle?
ONNO candles are unfortunately not refillable. Each glass is mouth blown and purely artisanal, making each glass unique and making it impossible to make a refill that fits the glass due to small variations in size. But after the candle has burned out, the glass can be used very beautifully as an object or vase.
How are ONNO scented candles made?
Each ONNO scented candle is pure artisanal craftsmanship by specialized professionals, with a passion for their profession. Each glass is mouth blown, after which some are finished by hand grinding or polishing. Every ONNO artisan glass is therefore unique. They use Egyptian cotton wicks and pure wax of high quality and natural colours, all of which come from Germany and meet the highest standards.
The ONNO Collection perfumes are created by designer Ilse Vandeputte, who has an innate passion for scents. With more than 25 years of experience in developing perfumes, she is a real 'nose' who uses only the best high-quality raw materials for which ONNO Collection is praised worldwide.
The wax is carefully poured by hand in several layers for each candle. After solidification, each glass is carefully cleaned. If the shape allows, a beautiful ribbon with hanging label is hung on it and each candle is carefully packaged in a beautiful ONNO Collection gift box.
I see small impurities in the glass, is that normal?
Yes, that is normal, due to manual and artisanal production by qualified professionals, small impurities can always occur. That is simply part of the nature of the product, namely handmade and mouth-blown glass.
Are the products from the ONNO Collection 100% natural?
So much use is made of natural ingredients in the maximum dosage, but for some products it is impossible to go to 100%. That is why ONNO's mission is to combine the best of nature and complement it with advanced science for the development of all their products. They only use alternatives for the parts that cannot be obtained from nature, or if that is better for the environment.
How can I optimally enjoy my ONNO Collection candle?
ONNO's scented candles are not only a great scent experience, they are also a work of art for your interior. Please follow the instructions below so that you can fully enjoy your favorite ONNO scented candle.
- Always let the candle burn until the entire surface becomes liquid.
- The first time this will take longer than subsequent times. Depending on the size of the candle, this can take between 3 and 7 hours. A completely liquid surface is important to prevent craters from forming that look unsightly and prevent the candle from burning evenly. Air flow can have an influence on the surface not becoming completely liquid. Change the position of the candle as necessary to liquefy the entire surface each time you burn the candle. Blowing out the candle about an hour after the surface has completely liquefied will improve the candle's burning time.
- Once the entire surface has liquefied, ensure that the level of liquid wax never exceeds 1.5 cm.
- Check the position of the fuses. The flames should not come too close or in direct contact with the glass. If they bend a little or change position, you will need to pull them up again when the wax is solidifying again after burning.
- Always make sure that there is at least 1cm of wax at the bottom of the candle so that the flame never reaches the glass bottom. This is to ensure that the glass does not overheat and break.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Please adjust the candle. do not expose to heat sources or wind. The candle may then start to smoke and give off black smoke.
- Each candle comes with a booklet explaining the burning tips, read it carefully before use.
The flames are very small and it looks like they are drowning, what can I do?
This can have several causes and if you have always followed the instructions for a completely liquid surface, this can be resolved. It is normal that the size of the flame may vary a little while the candle is burning. If the flame is too small, the best way to solve this is to blow out the candle (when it has reached a completely liquid surface) and relight it when the wax has solidified again after at least 15 minutes. The flames will then burn brighter. If the problem repeats, you may need to straighten the wicks while the wax is solidifying.
There is a lot of black smoke, what can I do about it?
Several reasons may underlie this phenomenon.
- The wicks are too long and must be cut to a size between 0.5 and 0.7 cm.
- The candle has been exposed to wind or draft and is causing the flame to move too quickly. Please move the candle to another place with less air flow.
The candle does not burn evenly, what can I do about it?
There are several possible reasons for this phenomenon. Check the following:
- If the candle is in a draft or wind, you should move the candle to remove this air flow.
- Give the candle enough time until the surface is completely liquid. Depending on the size, this can take 3 to 7 hours. If you do not adhere to this, craters will form in which the wicks can drown and which can prevent proper combustion of the candle.
- Check that the position of the wicks has not shifted and correct them if necessary after burning when the wax is solidifying again.
- Make sure the candle is on a level surface.
I have carefully read all the above instructions and still have a problem, what should I do?
We at Amber Interiors naturally want you to enjoy these luxurious scented candles as best and for as long as possible. If problems still arise when using ONNO's scented candles, you can send an email to info@amber-interiors.com
